Three ways to grab, one key each.

Region
Drag over a frozen copy of the screen. Handles, a size readout and a magnifying loupe beside the pointer; arrow keys nudge the edges, Space takes the whole display, Enter confirms.
Window
Point at a window; the highlighted one is captured when you click.
Full screen
The display under the pointer, on any number of monitors.
Options
A 3, 5 or 10 second delay, the cursor in or out, straight to the clipboard, straight into the editor.

PrintScreen layout

  • PrtSc region
  • Shift+PrtSc window
  • Ctrl+PrtSc screen

The default on Windows.

Snagit-style layout

  • Ctrl+Shift+C region
  • Ctrl+Shift+W window
  • Ctrl+Shift+F screen

One setting away on Windows. The default on a Mac, with ⌘ in place of Ctrl. Any key can be your own.

Shown with the Snagit-style layout; with the PrintScreen layout the Capture button reads PrintScreen.

A loupe where the pointer is.

The region picker freezes the screen first, so menus and tooltips hold still while you frame them. The size readout and the magnified pixels under the pointer make the edge land where you meant it.

An editor built for pointing.

Every tool has one letter. Zoom with Ctrl and the wheel, pan with the middle button or Alt and a drag, undo with Ctrl+Z, redo with Ctrl+Y.

  • VSelectmove, resize and restack marks; double-click text to edit it
  • AArrowfrom the note to the thing it is about
  • LLineunderline, connect or separate
  • RRectangleframe a field, a button or a row
  • EEllipsecircle one detail
  • PPenfreehand, for when nothing else fits
  • HHighlightera marker stroke; Shift+H lays a highlight block instead
  • TTextplain or on a solid background
  • CCallouta speech bubble with a tail
  • NStep number1, 2, 3 for the order of the clicks
  • BBlurblur or pixelate anything private
  • MMagnifierenlarge a detail where it sits
  • XCroptrim the picture; undo brings it back

What you save is what you saw.

The editor and the saved picture come from the same renderer. Save image writes a flattened PNG or JPEG; Copy image puts it on the clipboard. The capture itself stays untouched in Pictures\Captrio, and the marks live beside it in a .captrio.json file, so next week you can still move the arrow.

Draw on the live screen.

ZoomIt's keys, from any app. Freeze and magnify, draw over what's running, type a note, or put up a break timer. Ctrl+E opens the marked-up screen in the editor with every mark still editable.

Freeze the screen and lean in

The picture stops and doubles around the pointer. Scroll or press ↑ ↓ to zoom, move the mouse to pan, click to draw on the magnified picture; a right-click ends the drawing.

Draw on whatever is running

RGBYOPpick the pen

  • Shift + letter a highlighter in that colour
  • X a blur pen for anything private
  • Shift Ctrl Tab line, rectangle, ellipse while you drag
  • Ctrl+Shift an arrow
  • T type where the pointer is
  • W K a white or black board
  • E Ctrl+Z wipe everything, undo one
A full-screen break timer counting down from 10:00

Put the break on the screen

Liveora Snap only: a full-screen countdown for the break, ten minutes unless you change it in Settings. ↑ ↓ set the minutes, Space pauses, Esc ends it.

While zooming or drawing, Ctrl+C copies the marked-up screen and Ctrl+S saves it as a PNG; Esc leaves any mode. On a Mac the global shortcuts use ⌘ instead of Ctrl. In Liveora Studio the same keys work while you record a screen or a region, and every mark goes into the video.

It lives in the tray.

Close the panel and Liveora Snap keeps running in the tray with its shortcuts live. It can start with Windows or macOS, hidden. The skin, the language (English or Hungarian, following the system), the capture folder, the file format and every shortcut sit on one page.

.NET 10 and Avalonia: the same app on Windows and macOS, with a thin native layer for capture.

Good to know before you start.

PrintScreen
Windows 11 hands the PrintScreen key to the Snipping Tool. With the PrintScreen layout, Liveora Snap switches that off so it can take the key; you can switch it back in Settings › Accessibility › Keyboard.
Not yet
No scrolling capture and no live zoom (ZoomIt's Ctrl+4) in this first release.
Windows
Some hardware-accelerated windows come out black from the window API; Liveora Snap then cuts the window out of the screen instead.
macOS
Allow Liveora Snap under Privacy & Security › Screen Recording at the first capture. The Mac build hasn't been run on real hardware yet.
Name
The 0.1.0 previews were built before the rename, so they still install and run as Captora (Liveora Studio) and Captrio (Liveora Snap) and keep those names for their folders.
Signing
The preview isn't code-signed yet: on Windows the browser and SmartScreen each ask once, and macOS needs Open Anyway. What to click
